Mahshid Balazadeh
pursued her master’s at TU Berlin. Her master’s theses project is focused on resident-oriented and
participatory urban development, with a neighborhood in Tehran as a case study
at the Technical University of Berlin. During her master’s studies, she has
worked for Gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg
und Partner, in both big scale –compound-complexes - and small scale
projects in Berlin. In the last year of her master’s studies she moved to Spain, where
she worked for Ensamble Studio, with a cross-functional team and an
experimental mindset. She received her
Bachelor in
Tehran,
where was able to
observe real projects in a small-scale studio as well as participate in two
international competitions. Mahshid has participated in several
interdisciplinary workshops, including the research-oriented Iran Contemporary
Architecture Workshop and Academy of Architecture Culture workshop in Hamburg,
which was a cooperative project between Iran and Germany. She is interested
in social aspects of architecture and Urban transformation and her focus is on
innovative solutions and processes in this field.
